UK Visa Appointment Booking in Pakistan: Step-by-Step Guide
UK visa appointment booking in Pakistan happens in two steps. First, you complete your visa application and pay the fee on GOV.UK. Then you follow the link in your application to the visa application centre's booking site (VFS Global in Pakistan at the time of writing). There you choose a centre and a date to give your fingerprints and photo. You book the slot yourself, online, through that official link. No agent can buy or reserve a slot for you.
Based on official guidance from GOV.UK. Last updated October 2026. Visa rules, fees and waiting times change, so always confirm on the official site before you apply, or ask us on WhatsApp for the latest checklist.

Key points
- Apply and pay on GOV.UK first. You can only book an appointment after that.
- Use the booking link in your GOV.UK application. It always takes you to the right provider.
- You can choose any UK visa centre in Pakistan, not only the one closest to home.
- Some appointments are free and some locations or appointment types charge. The booking site shows any charge before you confirm. Extra paid services are optional.
- Bring your passport, appointment letter and the documents your checklist asks for. Bring a TB test certificate if you need one.
- You can usually reschedule through your booking account if another slot is available.
How UK visa appointments work in Pakistan
UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) decides every UK visa. It uses a private company, called a commercial partner, to run its visa application centres. In Pakistan, this is VFS Global at the time of writing. At the centre, staff take your biometrics (fingerprints and a facial photo), check your passport and handle your documents. They do not decide your visa.
GOV.UK explains the ways to prove your identity for a UK visa. Most applicants in Pakistan attend a centre. If your application tells you to use the "UK Immigration: ID Check" app instead, follow that route and you will not need to book a centre appointment.
Step-by-step: UK visa appointment booking in Pakistan
- Complete your online application on GOV.UK. Choose the right visa, for example Standard Visitor or Student, and answer every question honestly and consistently.
- Pay the visa fee, plus the Immigration Health Surcharge if your visa requires it. Check the current amounts on the official UK visa fees page.
- Follow the booking link. After payment, your application gives you a link to the visa application centre's booking site (VFS Global in Pakistan at the time of writing). Register with the same email address you used on GOV.UK.
- Choose your centre. Select Pakistan and then the city you want to attend.
- Pick a date and time from the calendar. You may also see paid extra services. These are optional and do not change the visa decision.
- Upload your supporting documents on the booking site before the appointment, if it asks you to. Self-upload is usually free. A paid scanning service at the centre may also be offered, but you do not have to use it.
- Print your appointment confirmation and the checklist or cover sheet your application gives you.
- Attend on time with everything on your checklist.
Slots fill up faster at some times of year. Summer, student intake months and the weeks before Christmas are usually busy, so book as soon as you get the link. If you cannot see a suitable date, log in again later, as new slots can appear.
Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi or Mirpur: which centre?
UK visa application centres in Pakistan are in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi, and there is also a centre in Mirpur (AJK). At Mirpur an extra charge may apply. Check the cost on the booking site before you choose it. Always check the current list of centres when you book, and use the address on your confirmation letter rather than an old one from the internet.
Applicants from Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northern Punjab usually choose Islamabad. If Islamabad has no suitable date, you can book Lahore or Karachi instead. Your choice of centre does not affect the decision.
What to bring to your UK visa appointment
- The passport you used in your application, plus old passports if your checklist asks for them
- Your appointment confirmation letter
- The printed checklist or cover sheet from your application, if you were given one
- Your supporting documents, unless you have already uploaded them. Keep the originals with you in case staff ask to see them
- Proof that you uploaded your documents, if the booking site gives you one
- A TB test certificate if you are coming to the UK for more than six months (this includes most students). It must come from a clinic on the GOV.UK list of approved TB test clinics in Pakistan
- For students: your CAS details and any extra documents on your checklist
- Your CNIC (or a child's B-Form) as extra ID, in case staff ask for it
Large bags and some electronic items may not be allowed inside the centre. Check the centre's rules on the booking site before you go. Every family member who is applying needs their own application, fee and appointment. You can often book them for the same time.
How to reschedule or cancel
To change your appointment, log in to your account on the booking site with the details you registered. Choose a new available slot and save it, then print the new confirmation. The booking site sets its own rescheduling rules, so read them in your account.
- Paid optional services may not be refundable if you change or cancel. Check the terms before you pay.
- If you miss your appointment, book a new one through your account as soon as possible.
- GOV.UK sets a time limit for proving your identity after you submit your online application. If you miss it, you must start a new application.
- If you notice a mistake in your submitted form, check GOV.UK for how to contact UKVI about it. Starting a second application usually means paying the fee again.
Beware of people selling appointment slots
Some people on social media and WhatsApp claim they can sell or "arrange" UK appointment slots. Appointments are booked only through the official booking site linked from your GOV.UK application. Never share your GOV.UK or booking site login, password or one-time codes with anyone who says they can "get" you a date. IVS – Islamabad Visa Services does not sell, hold or secure appointment slots. We only guide you to book your own.
After your appointment
After biometrics, your application goes to UKVI for a decision, and you get updates by email. Depending on your visa and the services you choose, you may get your passport back at the appointment, or it may be kept until a decision is made. The centre will tell you which.
UKVI offers paid priority decision services for some visas, but not for every visa or location. They aim to give a quicker decision, but they do not change the outcome.

Register with the same email address, choose a centre and pick a date and time for your biometrics.
Where are the UK visa application centres in Pakistan?
UK visa application centres in Pakistan are in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi, plus a centre in Mirpur (AJK) where an extra charge may apply, so check the cost on the booking site before you choose it. You can book any of them, and your choice of centre does not affect the visa decision.
Is the UK visa appointment free in Pakistan?
Some appointments are free and some locations or appointment types charge. The booking site shows any charge before you confirm. Extra services shown on the booking site are optional and do not change the visa decision.
What documents do I need for a UK biometrics appointment?
Bring your passport, your appointment confirmation, the checklist or cover sheet from your application, and any supporting documents you have not uploaded. If you are coming to the UK for more than six months, also bring a TB test certificate from a GOV.UK-approved clinic.

Can anyone sell me an earlier UK visa appointment in Pakistan?
No. UK appointments are booked only through the official booking site linked from your GOV.UK application, and no agent can sell, hold or speed up a slot. No one can guarantee your visa either: only UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) decides. IVS helps you prepare your file and guides you to book your own appointment.
