Schengen Visa Appointment Booking in Pakistan: Where to Book and What to Bring
Schengen visa appointment booking in Pakistan works country by country: you apply to your main destination and book through that country's official channel. Some embassies use a visa centre such as VFS Global, BLS International or Gerry's, and others run their own appointment system or waiting list. Book early, use only official websites, and have your full document file ready before your date.
Based on official guidance from France-Visas. Last updated October 2026. Visa rules, fees and waiting times change, so always confirm on the official site before you apply, or ask us on WhatsApp for the latest checklist.

Key points
- Apply to the country where you will spend the most time. If the stays are equal, apply to the country you will enter first.
- Each Schengen country sets its own booking channel in Pakistan, and a few do not take applications here at all.
- Booking channels change. Always confirm on the embassy's official website.
- Never pay anyone who offers to sell you an appointment slot.
- Have your documents ready before you book.
Step 1: Choose the right country
Book with the embassy of your main destination: the country where you will stay longest or where the main purpose of your trip is (if stays are equal, the country you enter first). Do not choose a country only because it has free slots. Our Schengen visit visa guide explains how to choose, with examples.
Step 2: Schengen visa appointment booking in Pakistan, country by country
Each country chooses its own booking channel, and these can change at any time. Here is where to start for the main Schengen countries. Always confirm the current channel on the official embassy website before you book.

- France: you complete the online form on France-Visas, which shows where to submit in Pakistan and which channel to use for appointments. Check it before you book. The French Embassy in Islamabad may call you for an interview. See our France visa assistance page.
- Germany: the German Embassy in Islamabad and the Consulate General in Karachi run their own online appointment system with a waiting list. You register once, receive a waiting-list number by email, and get your appointment date later by email. Register only once per person, because duplicate registrations can be cancelled. Applicants from Sindh and Balochistan use Karachi; applicants from Islamabad, Rawalpindi and the rest of Pakistan use the Embassy in Islamabad. Details are on the German Embassy's Schengen visa page. See our Germany visa assistance page.
- Italy: the Embassy of Italy in Islamabad names its current booking channel on its official website. Some embassies use a visa centre and some take appointments directly, so check there first. See our Italy visa assistance page.

Some Schengen countries do not take visa applications in Pakistan and are represented by another country or ask you to apply elsewhere. These arrangements change, so check the official website of your destination country first.
Also check jurisdiction. Where a country has both an embassy in Islamabad and a consulate in Karachi, the office you use usually depends on where you live.
Step 3: Booking tips that actually help
- Start early. In most cases you can apply up to six months before your trip, so do not leave it to the last minute. Demand is usually highest before the summer season.
- Prepare documents first. Some slots come at short notice. If your file is ready, you can take the first available date.
- Use your passport details exactly. Your name, passport number and date of birth must match your passport.
- Book the family together. If you travel as a family, try to book everyone in the same session.
- Check at different times. Slots are released from time to time. Check the official site regularly.
- Use only official channels. Book only through the link on the embassy website. A real appointment is never bought from a middleman.
- Keep every email. Save your booking confirmation and waiting-list emails in one folder.
Step 4: Documents to bring on appointment day
Every embassy publishes its own checklist, so download the latest one and have your file ready before your date. On appointment day, bring:
- Passport: usually issued within the last 10 years, valid for at least 3 months after you plan to leave the Schengen area, with at least two blank pages. Bring your old passports with previous visas too.
- Appointment confirmation or the embassy's appointment email.
- Application form: completed and signed, or the printout of your online form (for example from France-Visas).
- Photos that meet the Schengen photo rules.
- Every document on that embassy's checklist: originals plus one set of copies, in the same order as the checklist so the officer can find each one quickly.
- The visa fee. Check the current fee on the embassy or visa centre website.
For the full document list (insurance, itinerary, bank statements, cover letter), see our Schengen visit visa guide for Pakistani applicants.
What happens at the appointment
After a security check, staff look through your documents and take the fee. Then they take your fingerprints and a photo. If you gave fingerprints for a Schengen visa recently, they may be reused, so you may not need to give them again. Young children are usually exempt from fingerprints. Check both points, including the current age limit, with the embassy or visa centre. Your passport is usually kept for the embassy's decision, and you get a receipt or tracking number.
Some embassies also ask you a few short questions about your trip at submission. Answer honestly and simply. Make sure your answers match your documents.
Processing times change, so check the current estimate on the embassy website. Do not make bookings you cannot cancel until you have your visa.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do all Schengen embassies in Pakistan use the same visa centre?
No. Each country chooses its own channel. Some use a private visa centre and some take appointments directly or through their own online system. Check the official website of the embassy you are applying to before you book.
How do I book a Schengen visa appointment in Pakistan?
Book through the channel named on the official website of the country you are applying to. Depending on the country, this is a visa centre such as VFS Global, BLS International or Gerry's, or the embassy's own appointment system or waiting list.
What should I do if no Schengen appointments are available?
Keep checking the official booking site at different times, register on the waiting list if the embassy uses one, and plan your trip earlier. Do not switch to another country just because it has slots, because you must apply to your real main destination.
How early can I apply for a Schengen visa from Pakistan?
In most cases you can apply up to six months before your trip. Start early, especially before the summer travel season, because appointments can be hard to find.
Can I buy a Schengen visa appointment from an agent in Pakistan?
No. Book only through the official embassy or visa centre website and pay only the official fees listed there. Appointments sold by middlemen can be cancelled, and no one can guarantee you an earlier slot.
